Saturday night, I got a call from my friend’s son.
Who is 23 years old.
In college.
Studying mechanical engineering.
He was breathing hard.
Frustrated..
Hurt.
And-
Confused.
“I am sorry for calling you this late, Auntie.”
“What’s happened, Adam?”
He claimed.
He went on a date and it didn’t go well.
“How did you know- it didn’t go well?” I asked.
“Because she blocked me on all social media!”
He said.
As if…
He committed a crime.
Ok.
She blocked him.
So.
He suggested..
It must have been him.
He must have been so lousy on the date.
That she-
Had to use an extreme measure..
To show her disinterests in him!
I said, “Adam, walk away!”
“You can’t take 100% of the accountability that it didn’t go well.”
She didn’t communicate anything to you.
She didn’t say you weren’t a good fit.
I told him.
It seemed.
She was somewhat emotionally unavailable.
Or it could be..
She didn’t have the capacity to tell you.
Or..
She felt you were not compatible.
Or..
She didn’t want to hurt you.
Or..
She may be broken.
I gave him a lot of hypotheses.
I didn’t want him to jump into any conclusions or projections that-
It must have been “HIM”.
“What can you learn from this?” I asked.
He paused.
“Did you feel she’s worthy of you?”
He said. “No!”
“Did you share similar values or interests in your conversations?”
He said, “No!”
“There you go! Walk away from the rejection.” I repeated.
Because-
When the Universe shuts a door on you…
It simply meant that’s not your door or your person.
She’s not worthy of him.
Yet.
To break his heart for.
It was only the first date.
Although…
It may be the hardest thing..
To move on from-
The “nothing’s said”
But..
Was she truly worthy of him-
Based on how she dealt with the situation?
No!
